Good Morning Priti People! Today I would like to introduce you to my first featured artist Rosa Aquino. Rosa is an amazingly talented artist who is well versed in various mediums. Her projects often leave me speechless because she continuously pushes the limits of the creative process and proves that in art anything goes!
When I first found Rosa's channel on YouTube, she was creating projects using resin and polymer clay. Since then, she has evolved into the QUEEN of mixed-media (a title I have bestowed upon her). LOL. Her artwork is brilliant and I am envious of her creative outcomes. (Don't judge me!)
So this week, I am honored to spotlight Rosa Aquino as our "Priti Creative Genius of the Week!" Please visit her YouTube channel and enjoy her artistic masterpieces. You will not be disappointed, but you WILL BE INSPIRED! (http://www.youtube.com/user/rosaaquino1)

The Newest "Priti" Project!
I know its been a minute since I've written a blog post. Truth is...time is not always on my side or is it lack of time management? Either way, I recognize that I need to get my life together! LOL. While I was away, I was busy working on a HUGE project that was eating away at my ability to keep secrets. But now, I can open my big mouth and tell you all that I've done it. I have really done it! With the help of my graphic designer Shelsie Smith and the support of family and friends, I have released my first deep etched rubber stamp entitled "Priti Girl Dots." She is the Priti-est character ever and I'm so in love with her! You can purchase her from my Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/listing/155333317/priti-girl-dots-deep-etched-rubber-stamp?ref=shop_home_active
Here she is! Isn't she Priti? So you see, I do have a good excuse for being gone. (NOT!)

So what's next you ask? Well, I have a Design Team (DT) working to create fabulous artistic projects using Priti Girl Dots. I want my Priti Crafty Geniuses (PCG's) to understand that her potential is limitless. As they are created, I will update the blog with pics and vids.
My first DT project was submitted by Rosa Aquino (Rosaaquino1 on YT and you can check her out here: https://www.youtube.com/user/rosaaquino1?feature=watch). Rosa is an amazing artist whose talent always leaves me in awe.
Here is her artistic interpretation:

In the fall, I will release the next Priti Girl stamp. So stay tuned! There is more to come from All Things Priti and my Priti Pretty Projects!

Birth of the Punk Rock Flower Princess
I know...I know...it's been a minute since I've posted in the Projects. Life is so busy and my list of "to-do's" grows and forces other things to become "don'ts." However, soon school will be over and I will have more free time to blog, create and babble on about my daily adventures and monumental introspective moments of reflection.
So anyway, last night, I treated my BFF to a night of creative fun at an art studio called "Unchartered Creativity." You bring your own food and drinks and learn how to create the painting of the night. I was truly excited to get into the studio and was inspired by the tons of artwork that draped the walls. Most of it was created by middle and high school students in our community.
As I sat down in front of my canvas, I was instantly paralyzed with fear and intimidation. It tripped me out because I'm a crafter and while I'm not trained I consider myself to be an artist. You would think that I would totally be in my comfort zone. I analyzed that white space and began to think of all the negatives...what if I mess up...what if it's ugly...what if my painting doesn't measure up...what if...what if...what if! As the instructor walked us through each step, I began to feel a little more comfortable. However, there was still something holding me hostage preventing MY creative spirit from taking flight. I was going through the motions and the more color I slathered on the canvas, the less enthralled I became with my painting. After two hours of our three hour session, I scrapped my painting and started over.
I was over thinking the entire process and needed to step away and get a grip. I began to let my thoughts go and just paint. I picked up my brush and let it glide and flick across the canvas. After 30 minutes of flicking, gliding and slathering, my painting began to take shape and the "Punk Rock Flower Princess" was born!
Through this experience I learned that art should not be limiting or limited...it should be limitless. From now on, I agree to allow myself to FREELY create without expectation (of perfection). At the end of the day, all art is perfect in its own way.

I'm Charmed!
Good Morning Pretties!
Ok. So it's been an amazing work week and I'm truly excited for the weekend to arrive so that I can relax, relate and RELEASE! (Exhaling right now!) I have lots of projects to complete by the 25th of January. I'm participating in several Artist Trading Card (ATC) swaps and my first swap on Your Paper Pantry (YPP) which is also a first attempt at creating....drum roll please....PAPER CHARMS! Ummm...this should be quite interesting. I'm glad I only have to create three. The pic shows the beginning stages...who knows what they'll look like in the end.
Have a super awesome day! I'm off to finish these charms.

Smash the Past 2013!
Welcome to the Priti Pretty Projects! As always, we start of the new year with resolutions that rarely get resolved. So this year, I decided to set three goals and hold myself accountable for those three specific tasks. For some strange reason, the term "resolutions" doesn't seem to hold the same weight as the word "goals"...even though, in my opinion, they are synonymous. At any rate, one of my goals is to become a paper crafting consultant...and so I did! (Deets to come later.) My second goal is to become a writer/blogger in order to fulfill my love of writing...so I did! Yay me! However, my writing goal is still under construction because I want to become a freelance writer for some craft or educational magazine. Lastly, I dream of starting a craft related business that is independent of my consulting venture. While I am proud of myself for setting things in motion, I must continue to keep the wheel turning so that my goals don't become like most resolutions that I've set in the past...just dreams that are never realized.
In order to document my progress, I created a Priti Pretty Project called, "Smash the Past." Basically, it's a smash book where I house important keepsakes that show progress towards my three goals set for 2013. I'm "smashing the past" by refusing to allow my ideas to become unrealized dreams. Each picture, thought, receipt or piece of nostalgia will become evidence of my movement towards completion. Although it sounds simple enough, if it were, then there would be no need for this smash book.
So, as you set goals for 2013, remember you hold the power to determine the realization of your dreams. Establish some form of accountability and measurability. Without it, your desires are not tangible and will become lost in the mix of day-to-day haps! One of the best books I ever read was, Write it Down, Make it Happen: Knowing What You Want and Getting It by Henriette Ann Klauser. The content within this book helped me become a person of accountability and allowed me to achieve many dreams. I live by this book, and now I create Priti Pretty Projects because of this book. Give it a try....Write it down...make it happen...and SMASH the past!
Peace and Blessings from the Projects!
